The H.E.A.R.T Program
High Excellence Accelerated Reward Training Program
One of Infinity SC focuses this year is to improve the competitive environment for our players during training. Therefore, we are excited to introduce the “High Excellence Accelerated Reward Training Program” or H.E.A.R.T incentive program this fall. The H.E.A.R.T. Program was created to reward the players that are pushing their own limits to the max in training and match play. We strongly believe that players deserve recognition and an opportunity to be further challenged on another level outside of their team. Infinity SC recently hired Sly Yeates to be a trainer and a coach in the club due to her impeccable reputation around the valley as a personal trainer. We are going to tap into one of her most sought out attributes, and reward players who want to accelerate their individual abilities by providing two technical training sessions with Sly for the top two players of every team each week (Sep- Oct.) These high-paced training sessions will be technically challenging as well as physically and mentally demanding.
How it is applied:Every Friday, each Infinity SC Coach will acknowledge two players as “top” players from the previous week via email. With the acknowledgment, the players are invited to receive the additional training offered by Sly. Her H.E.A.R.T. training schedule will be posted on the “SLY “ tab of the Infinity SC Fall Schedule 2011. The players invited will be listed under the appropriate week on the SLY tab. Coaches are to send an invitation to the “top” players of the week and cc: Sly and Ginn to the email. Players will need to arrive 10 minutes early to warm-up and stretch. They must also be wearing their green training shirt and have an inflated ball.Criteria for Coaches weekly selections:
The H.E.A.R.T. Program is a rewards program. Therefore, the selection must be based on the coaches evaluation during that week. The players that are invited to the training should be based on the following criteria:1) Tremendous work rate
2) Displays an attitude of excitement to improve that is contagious among his/her teammates
3) Effort and contribution in match play
4) Are constantly making efforts to apply training ideas and concepts in to their match play5) Are ambitious at improving their technical skills and show signs of training at home
The coaches are HIGHLY discouraged to put the players on their team on some sort of rotation. Selecting players challenges each coach to focus more on evaluating players on a weekly basis. Head coaches are expected to utilize their assistant coaches when determining whom to reward. Players should not get a vote and parents should not be an influence. It very well may be that the coaches select the same player(s) multiple weeks due to their consistent contribution to their team.Benefits:With a focus on competition in our training sessions, we believe that certain players will rise up as they peak. We want to take advantage of the moments when a players are demanding more of themselves and challenge them further. With the “top” players receiving the additional training we believe that it will have a trickle down effect to the rest of the team by having the “top” players more committed to demand more of themselves at training .Therefore, the “top” players will challenge, inspire and encourage their teammates to focus more and compete harder in training as well as during match play.Conflicts:The scheduled times may conflict with other activities. These sessions are offered as a reward and highly valued for the recognized players. These sessions are purely optional. However, we encourage the invited players to make it a priority to attend when they are invited.Possible conflicts and how to resolve them:
RECOMMENDATIONS (ultimately the players decision) for conflicting activities:
Race Rx - we encourage you to take advantage of the H.E.A.R.T. Program over Race Rx.
Team Training - we encourage you to take advantage of the H.E.A.R.T. Program over Team Training.
Team Game - never miss a game, your team relies on you to contribute on match day.
Scheduled Friendly (scrimmage) - we encourage you to take advantage of the H.E.A.R.T. Program over friendlies. Coaches can utilize players from other teams to fill in your spot. Take advantage of the extra touches on the ball with the H.E.A.R.T. Program.
Non-Infinity SC related activities - we encourage you to take advantage of the H.E.A.R.T. Program over other activities, but ultimately this is up to the player.
